Susan is 40 years old and the daughter of Team Bingo member Mary. Susan works as a nurse, and started playing bingo with colleagues.When interest in the weekly bingo excursions waned, she continued to play at the local bingo hall, but changed to go with her mother. It was there she met Rebecca, a die-hard bingo fan who ran a local Bingo Magazine, and was the first of the group to get started with online bingo. “I’ve been playing bingo for 15 years now” explains Susan. “My husband thinks it’s funny that I play when I’m so young, but he doesn’t laugh when I come home with winnings!” “I think of Bingo as a good investment of time – it costs about the same as a trip to the cinema, but I can play for longer, have a chance at winning, and I’ve made some fab friends too. Hubby actually likes it now – he watches his footie on the HDTV – which I won playing bingo, and I enjoy my bingo night on the PC or at the Mecca.” “I like to hook up with the girls at least twice a week. Rebecca and Rhianna do meet up more, I think, but I’m on call so can’t always make it. I’m really glad I started playing though – I wouldn’t have met them otherwise, and we have so many happy memories! We do everything together now, not just bingo, but shopping trips, day trips, body shop nights, everything – we’re best friends in the truest meaning of the phrase.” |
